DUABLOCK

Duablock is a composite material used in mining applications experiencing severe wear.

Duablock® is a composite material used in mining applications experiencing severe wear. This product consists of a white iron casting bonded to a backing plate.

Duablock’s wear resistant microstructure, along with its impact absorbing backing plate, makes it perfect for high abrasion and high impact applications.

The Duablock casting is produced by Bradken’s in-house foundries where an automated moulding machine allows for high volume, low-cost manufacturing. A heat treatment process is used to create a metallurgical bond between the casting and mild steel backing plate, whilst maximising its wear and impact resistance.

The Duablock cast material belongs to the high chromium abrasion-resistant cast iron alloys designated by Australian Standard – AS 2027–2007. The major alloying elements, chromium, carbon and molybdenum, Duablock® give this material its superior abrasion and impact resistant properties.
